- The range will be a cold range unless otherwise specified.
- Handgun will remain holstered unless competitor is in a designated firing position, or is at a designated load/unload point. Holstered means hood or snap in carrying position. Any 1911 style weapons may have hammer cocked with safety on. Double action pistols must be decocked when in holster.
- Rifles will remain with the safety on, bolt forward and slung in the low ready position. The high ready position in not authorized on the range.
- When moving with a rifle, it will be in the low ready, safety will be on with a straight trigger finger. All rifles will have slings.
- Major Safety Violations:
- Flagging of another competitor, Staff or Civilian
- Unintentional discharge
- Dropping a loaded weapon
- Emotional outbursts while in control of a weapon system
- Moving with a handgun not in a holster.
- Holster unsecured/unsnapped during movement
- Dry firing can be done only in designated load/unload points. Further, weapon actions can only be open or closed in designated load/unload points.
- If a weapon malfunctions during an event, a team member may use the weapon of another team member during that event.
- When moving with a rifle, one hand must always be in control on the weapon, preferably on the grip.
Other Key Points:
- If you drop equipment during an event, you must recover it prior to finishing the event.
- If a judge or event manager sees anything attached to a weapon system that appears to be non standard, non tactical or not in the spirit of the tactical competition, they may require the team member to remove it or use a different weapon system.
- Snipers rifles should have a sling. Bipods are optional.
- During competition events, teams can use alternate or extra team member during that event as they see fit.
- If you wish to protest an event, do so then and there. A judge will be stationed at each event. Their word is final. Remember, two unfounded protests and the second one will disqualify your team from the last event protested.
- Two times will be kept for each event. The team will be given the faster time of the two stop watches.
