Course Details:
The TTPOA in conjunction with Tiger Valley Training Facility in Waco will conduct an Advanced Weapons Tactics Course at its Waco facility.  Tiger Valley instructors will bring topics and training material that will span 8 hours of range time.  (Class runs Monday Oct 26th at 0800 hours)  Lead instructor will be T.J. Pilling.  T.J. has 24 years experience as a SWAT Team Precision Marksmen and now owns Tiger Valley, a training facility in Waco Texas.  Tiger Valley is a certified State Department training site, which currently runs DDM classes for contractors working in foreign countries. 
 
Course Topics:

This class will deal with training in areas that are not commonly available at your department ranges i.e.; pistol movement against shoot back radio controlled paint ball gun, movers, shooting from unstable platforms and shooting drills.  Rifle will deal with speed and accuracy drills but will also deal with distances encountered in a school or shopping mall situation.  Shooters will engage movers that are walking and running as well as stationary targets to 300 yards.  This curriculum will fit the needs of both SWAT and patrol first responders to and active shooter scenes.

 
Prerequisites
Students must be certified peace officers or active military personnel, in good standing with their agency.  Students must be able to provide agency ID on the first day of class.  Shooters should be familiar with their weapon systems and have safe weapons handling skills.
 
Required Equipment

Those attending should bring all normal equipment both for SWAT or Patrol Officers.  Eye and ear protection as well as clothing needed for physical activity such as dropping to the prone position.  Shooters should bring 350 rounds of both pistol and rifle ammunition.

The fee for the course is $75.00.  Registration must be done on-line at http://www.ttpoa.org/  (Training Calendar). Tiger Valley Location: From Interstate 35 Exit 339 (Lake Waco / Lake Shore Drive exit), take Loop 340 eastward to HWY 84 (approximately 1 mile). *MAP* Proceed on HWY 84 East approximately 13 miles to Watt (sign on both sides of post on right). Continue to the top of the next rise. The main gate is on the left between two modular homes (behind the cell phone antenna). The range is to the west of LCR 126 (Joe Russell Road). Christmas Creek is approximately .3 mile east of the range.
