Dr. Eastman serves as the TTPOAs TEMS training advisor and medical director. He is a board-certified surgeon at the Trauma Center at Parkland Hospital/UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, the lead medical officer/tactical physician for the Dallas Police Department SWAT Team and a Dallas Police Officer.

TRAINING ADVISOR Shannon Couch
Abilene PD
Shannon is a Master Peace Officer and has been a police officer in Abilene since 1988. His assignments have included Patrol, SWAT, Training and is currently assigned to patrol and SWAT. Shannon has served as Region 5 Director, Secretary, and Vice President before becoming President. He also served as a member of the TTPOA Training Advisory Committee. Shannon is the Past President and Chairman of the Training Advisory Board.

TRAINING ADVISOR David Flory
Hot Springs Police Department
David Flory is a thirty year veteran of the Bedford Police Department where serves as the Police Chief. He has served as a SWAT Team operator, Team Leader and Unit Commander. David has his Bachelor's Degree from Texas Wesleyan University, is a graduate of the FBI National Academy (class 186) and is a Nationally Registered/Licensed Paramedic. He has been involved with the TTPOA since the mid-1980's, is the past Director for Region VI and is the immediate past Training Coordinator. In addition to serving as a Training Advisor, Chief Flory is the Program Manager of the TTPOA's Tactical Medic Program.

TRNG ADVSR Dan Severn
TAMU - Transportation Services
Dan Severn served with College Station PD from 1979-2008, retiring in July of 2008 after 29 years and 4 months. While with CSPD, he served as team leader of CSPD's SWAT unit from 1990-2008. Dan has bachelor's and master's degrees from Texas A&M University, and is a 1997 graduate of the FBI National Academy. He is now Assistant Manager of Traffic/Parking Operations with Texas A&M University. Dan also served as editor of Command from 2000-2004, and has served on the training advisory board since 2004.

TRNG ADVSR David Klinger
Univ. of Missouri
David Klinger is Associate Professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He holds an MA in Justice from American University in Washington, D.C. and a Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Washington in Seattle. Prior to pursuing his graduate degrees, Professor Klinger worked for three and one-half years as a patrol officer for the Los Angeles and Redmond (WA) Police Departments. In 1997 he was the recipient of the American Society of Criminology's inaugural Ruth Cavan Young Scholar Award for outstanding early career contributions to the discipline of criminology.
Professor Klinger has served as a member of the National Research Council (NRC) committee on Police Policy and Practices and is currently serving on the NRC committee for Assessment of the Bureau of Reclamation’s Security Program. He has written numerous scholarly articles, book chapters, and encyclopedia entries that address topics such as arrest practices, the use of force, how features of communities affect the actions of patrol officers, and terrorism. Dr. Klinger regularly conducts training sessions for police officers on the use of deadly force, frequently serves as an expert witness in police-related litigation, and is regularly sought out by news organizations for his take on various police issues. His book on police shootings, Into the Kill Zone: A Cop’s Eye View of Deadly Force, was published by Jossey-Bass in 2004.
