2-Day Night Vision Course

Description: This is a Sheriff of Baghdad (aka John Shrek McPhee) 2-day (14 hours) Night Vision Course. This course will focus on close distances, long distances, and accuracy all under NODS.


Night 1 will focus on shooting under NODS at a close distance, beginning the course with a quick parallel zero. We will then work through how to be quick and accurate at a close distance using your red dot or laser.


Night 2 we will transition into shooting under NODS out to 200yds. Beginning this night again with a quick parallel zero focusing this night on shooting 0-200 yards easily and effectively.


Upon completion of the 2-day training course, each participant will receive a training certificate for participation and all video diagnostic evaluations provided by John “Shrek” McPhee.


Master Coach: SGM (Ret.) John “Shrek” McPhee has spent his adult life in Special Operations and Special Mission Units. He is a Master Instructor and Subject Matter Expert (SME). He has trained countless U.S. Special Operations forces, thousands of International Tier 1 Operators and Special Forces around the world. He is one of the handful of Delta Force Operators with over a decade of combat having served in multiple theaters from Bosnia and South America to recent war efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan. From 0 to 2500 Meters, “SHREK” is one of the few operators known for his kill shot, keen precision, and commonsense approach, from hand to hand combat to setting one of the world record scuba dives. He is one of the Worlds Best of the Best.






Prerequisites: Due to the sensitive material covered in this course, all students must be either

Course Curriculum (14 Hours) :


Day 1: Night Vision Close

· Quick parallel zero

· Quickness

· Accuracy

· Red dot or laser use


Day 2: Night Vision Distance

· 0-200 target hits

· Accuracy at long distance


Active/Reserve Military or Law enforcement certified. Students will be asked show proof of credentials on the first day course.

Gear Requirements:

Night vision goggles

Duty Carbine

IR Laser

IR Flood Light

Ballistic Eye Protection

Hearing Protection

4 magazines minimum

A way to carry 2 mags on your belt (rifle and pistol)

**Batteries with extras for all your night vision devices**


The fee for the course is $ 850.00


Registration must be done on-line.Payment should be made to TTPOA.  Credit card payment is strongly recommended.  Payments(checks)should be mailed to: Brandon Hernandez, 1891 Forest Lane, Garland, Texas 75042. Inquiries regarding the course, payment or other questions can be directed to  hernandezb@garlandtx.gov.   All fees are due by 03/16/19.  There will be no refunds for cancellations after that date.
