  • Mark G. Childers

    Associate Vice President for the Department of Public Safety

    Baylor University

    Mark G. Childers is a30-year veteran of law enforcement.  He currently holds the position of Associate Vice President for the Department of Public Safety at Baylor University.  Mark has direct executive leadership and management responsibilities for alllaw enforcement and crisis management groups at Baylor.   Mark is also the Managing Principal for Defend 13, LLC. which provides protective operations consulting and training to law enforcement agencies and private corporations. 

    In 2014, he retired as a Supervisory Special Agent after serving 18 years in the United States Secret Service.  Prior to joining the U.S. Secret Service, Mark held the position of Deputy United States Marshal for eight years serving in the Miami, Dallas, and Houston Field Offices. His extensive law enforcement experience includes conducting and leadingfugitive investigations, white-collar crime investigations, protective intelligence investigations, and tactical andprotective operations for the President of the United States.  Mark earned his Master of Criminal Justice degree from Boston University.

  • THE COURSE IS $650.00 per student

  • Class will be from 0800 - 1700 each day (1.5 hour lunch)
  • PowerPoint presentations each morning followed by field exercises in afternoon (This is the final test)
  • Dress is BDU's for Tuesday and Wednesday;  Suit for Thursday (Simulated Protective Ops)
  • Will require radios and earpieces (clear).  We can use a tac back channel for comms.
  • Will require 3 vehicles preferably without MDT's in the middle console and unmarked (Expedition or Tahoe)
  • 24 Hours of TCOLE credit
  • No live firearms, ammunition, knives, chemical sprays, or tasers during training
