The Executive Leadership Resilience Course (ELRC) is a three-day course designed to strategically introduce relevant, best practice protective operations to law enforcement, military and corporate professionals tasked with ensuring their leaders are protected 360 degrees from potential threats.  Concepts such as site security advance planning, close protection tactics, and motorcade operations are shared with participants seeking a holistic understanding of protective operations in today‚Äôs threat driven environment.

 

This class will be taught by Defend 13 Training.

Mark G. Childers

Associate Vice President for the Department of Public Safety

Baylor University

Mark G. Childers is a 30-year veteran of law enforcement.  He currently holds the position of Associate Vice President for the Department of Public Safety at Baylor University.  Mark has direct executive leadership and management responsibilities for all law enforcement and crisis management groups at Baylor.   Mark is also the Managing Principal for Defend 13, LLC. which provides protective operations consulting and training to law enforcement agencies and private corporations. 

In 2014, he retired as a Supervisory Special Agent after serving 18 years in the United States Secret Service.  Prior to joining the U.S. Secret Service, Mark held the position of Deputy United States Marshal for eight years serving in the Miami, Dallas, and Houston Field Offices. His extensive law enforcement experience includes conducting and leading fugitive investigations, white-collar crime investigations, protective intelligence investigations, and tactical and protective operations for the President of the United States.  Mark earned his Master of Criminal Justice degree from Boston University.

  • Dress is BDU's for Tuesday and Wednesday;  Suit for Thursday (Simulated Protective Ops)
  • Will require radios and earpieces (clear).  We can use a tac back channel for comms

    24 Hours of TCOLE credit

    No live firearms, ammunition, knives, chemical sprays, or tasers during training

  • $650.00 per Officer

Registration must be done on-line.Payment should be made to TTPOA.  Credit card payment is strongly recommended.  Inquiries regarding the course, payment or other questions can be directed to  hernandezb@garlandtx.gov.   All fees are due by 5/25/19.  There will be no refunds for cancellations after that date.
