Instructor Bio

Sean Harris

USMC / LE Fort Worth SWAT

Sean Harris has over 23 years of law enforcement experience with the Ft. Worth Police Department. Prior to this he served for 6 years in the United States Marine Corps within Infantry, Amphibious Reconnaissance and Scout Sniper. Sean is a 18 year veteran of the Ft. Worth SWAT Team which is a full-time team. He was the Police Sniper Team Leader and responsible for mission planning, sniper deployment and all aspects of the sniper program. Recently he has transitioned to the training academy to teach concepts of tactical force on force/reality based training.  He teaches large venue sniper deployment while actively deploying with his department.  He teaches a proprietary Police Sniper Team Leader Course he developed to train Sniper TL’s. He is Aerial Platform trained and is also a Tactical Flight Officer (TFO) for his department. Sean maintains instructor certifications in many areas but highlighted are areas of Police Sniper Instructor, Reality Based Training Instructor, 50 Cal Instructor, Active Shooter Instructor, Patrol Rifle and Pistol Instructor. 


Course Description

An intermediate level Sniper course (you should have a basic knowledge of sniper fundamentals) focusing on the fundamentals/foundation of expected shooting positions (prone, sitting, kneeling, standing) as well as how to utilize available resources to accommodate unexpected, unconventional scenarios.  Shooters will learn how to adapt to unorthodox positions amidst discomfort while applying all the fundamentals of the Sniper discipline.  This course will zero in on the LE Sniper's ability to properly identify and assess the situation, set up the proper position and determine the best engagement.

Student Equipment Needs

Scoped Rifle capable of shooting one inch group at 100 yards (No patrol rifles), 250 rounds match grade ammo,  Tripod, Spotting Scope, Rain Gear ,Calculator/writing material, Sun Screen, Water, Data Book,  Optional- Shooting mat/Binoculars.
