This course is unique in is delivery of the most up to date and realistic tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP), enhancing the individual officer and operator’s ability to respond to close quarters threats. This program was designed to address a critical gap in military and law enforcement training including multiple source reference of military and law enforcement material, LEOKA statistics, and real world experience. CQET continues to adapt and receives constant updates based on both ongoing research, case study reference, and direct information from military and law enforcement engaged in the deployment of lethal force.  The program provides advanced TTPs to enhance officer and operator proficiency, and increase operational capability, while reducing organization liability.

 

The program is a 2 day format for pistols and includes rifles.  Instructor Tim Scarrot, is a US Army combat veteran, former police officer, corporate consultant, and has instructed for Direct Action Group for 18 years. Tim has worked with hundreds of military and law enforcement personnel throughout the US and has served as a guest instructor and guest speaker at several SWAT conferences.  He served as a full time police officer for 13 years in northern California with experience in patrol, investigations, SVU, violence suppression, and various other assignments.  Tim served 6 years in the 1-184 Nightstalker Battalion, recon / scout platoon, recruit instructor, and served a a combat tour in Iraq.  

 

Objectives for the Close Quarters Engagements Course:

  1. Safety
  2. Close Quarters Shooting
  3. Pre-engagement, Engagement & Post-Engagement procedures
  4. Mindset, awareness, threat recognition, target identification
  5. Combative Techniques (fighting)
  6. Weapons control (retention) and disarmament
  7. Extensive combat accuracy drills
  8. Extensive weapons handling drills
  9. Discussion of current / trending TTP’s and training / operational safety
  10. Discussion of current threat conditions and operational response

Equipment requirements:  All normally issued tactical gear for operations.  500 rounds of pistol ammunition and 200 rounds of rifle.  Spare magazines for each weapon.
