This class is an overview of mathematics with a reintroduction to various shots used within the breaching world.  A variety of doors will be provided. 



Student requirements

Personal safety equipment should always be incorporated into any breaching operation or training scenario.  The minimum safety equipment for each man is:

  1. Full Skin Coverage
  2. Gloves
  3. Body Armor
  4. Helmet
  5. Eye Protection
  6. Hearing Protection


T.C. Blassingame

Officer Blassingame has been a Garland Police Officer since 1994. Officer Blassingame joined the bomb unit in 1997 and attended HDS in 2002. Officer Blassingame attended basic SWAT in 2000 and has been teaching basic explosive explosive breaching since. Officer Blassingame took over command of the Garland Bomb Unit in 2016 and continued in this role until 2018. Officer Blassingame was assigned to the Garland Regional response team since 2000. Officer Blassingame is attached to the Garland SWAT team as a Tactical Bomb Technician and Master Breacher. Officer Blassingame instructs For the FBI, ATF and TTPOA.

CT Payne

Lt. CT Payne was a Garland Police Officer from 1984 to 2016 and a police supervisor from 1990 to 2016. In 1994 Lt Payne was assigned to command the Bomb Unit and attended Hazardous Devices School in 1995.  In 1995 Lt Payne established the Garland Explosive Breaching Program at which time he attended SWAT Basic Course, Tactical Explosive Entry School and Rapid Entry System Technologies.  Lt. Payne began instructing Basic Explosive Breaching for Texas Tactical Police Officers Association in 1999.   In 2000 Lt Payne developed the Garland Regional Response Group that provides EOD response to 22 counties in East Texas.  Lt Payne became a Tactical Bomb Technician Instructor in 2015
