Prerequisites: THIS IS AN LE / MIL  ONLY CLASS


Required Kit:

o Wrap around Eye Protection

o Ear protection (electronic preferred)

o Baseball style hat o Duty belt / patrol pistol belt

o Range food / WATER o Seasonal weather gear / rain gear

o Duty handgun, preferably 12 round capacity or higher

o Single stack .45’s are fine, just need to increase magazine count to 8 minimum

o 800 rounds of factory ammunition o Cleaning kit / lubrication

o NOTE TAKING MATERIALS ** Holsters MUST be capable of holstering without use of the support hand. Old leather pancake style or inside the waistband holsters that do not retain their opening when the handgun is removed are NOT permitted. ** Shoulder rigs ARE NOT permitted **


Instructor: Matt Jacques

Matt is a retired Police Detective and former Marine Corps veteran. Matt spent part of his military enlistment within HMX-1, The Presidential Helicopter Squadron, and he served within the Military Police MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) and after his military service, continued in civilian Law Enforcement. 


Matt served with two Virginia Law Enforcement agencies and filled several billets. During his tenure, he served assignments as a Basic Academy Recruit Instructor, Field Training Officer, Detective within the Special Problems Unit as an undercover Detective as well as a founding Special Deputy of the U. S. Marshal Capital Area Fugitive Task Force for the Washington D.C. U S Marshal’s Office. Matt served several years on a large Northern Virginia Police Department SWAT team as an entry team member and later was selected and served as a Sniper team member until his retirement due to injuries sustained during a line of duty incident. After his retirement, Matt was hired as the Senior Manager of Assault Weapons for FNH USA. He was involved in the FN SPR Precision Rifle program; FN Belt fed Weapons section and the SOCOM SCAR program. Matt was tasked with the user evaluations and conducting the New Equipment Training (NET) for USSOCOM and the SCAR family of weapons.


Matt left FNH USA and returned to training Law Enforcement as a Firearms Instructor for The US Department of State Firearms Training Unit within the Bureau of Diplomatic Security. Matt was tasked with firearms training of Federal Agents for Diplomatic Security both stateside and worldwide. The training consisted of proficiency in 18 weapons platforms and tactics to operate covertly and overtly in austere and hostile environments worldwide such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Africa. Matt was promoted to the Chief of Operations of the Firearms Training Unit in 2011. While supervising 32 Instructors, Matt continued to train the operational tactical teams, snipers and High Threat components of the State Department Firearms programs. 


In 2013, Matt resigned from Government service to make Victory First a full-time consulting and training company. He is a consultant for several leading companies within the Firearms Industry for product and business development and product / New Equipment training.


With his deep and diverse Law Enforcement, Government and firearms industry background, he is a sought-after resource for Concealment / Undercover training, Carbine and DM/DDM courses and Close Quarters Battle (CQB) training. Matt also serves as a consultant / advisor for product development within both Law Enforcement and the firearms industry.



The fee for the course is $450.00.

Payment must be received by Oct 7, 2019 in order to hold your spot in the class. No refunds will be given after Oct 7, 2019.

The course will begin promptly at 08:00 on Wednesday, Oct 16, 2019 at the Lubbock Police Department Shooting Range Lubbock Texas. (2.6 miles west of Research Blvd on Hwy 114)
