LE Red Dot Handgun Instructor

 

Course Cost: $395/student

Course Dates: December 4-5 0800-1700

Range location: 980 Humble Camp Rd, Pleasanton, TX (S of San Antonio)

Pre Requisites: Certified LE Only. Must have required equipment.

Classroom Topics:
Department Policy considerations
Equipment selection and maintenance
Current challenges in implementation
Resources and statistics supporting RDS implementation

Range:
Zeroing
Specific shooting fundamentals emphasis to RDS
Understanding the advantages RDS and abilities of the shooter
Understanding what is needed to make an acceptable hit
RDS and diagnosing shooter error
Picking up the dot quickly
Moving and shooting
Strong Hand/Weak Hand
Distance
RDS Malfunctions
Performance shooting

Equipment required:
RDS equipped handgun
Spare optic batteries and any tools needed to replace them
Secure belt mounted holster (prefer duty holster)
4-5 magazines
1000 rounds ammunition
eyes/ears

Instructor Bio
Aaron Marco has been in law enforcement since 2006 and assigned to a full time SWAT team since 2012. He is currently the lead firearms instructor for the team and pioneered the RDS handgun program for his department. He has assisted other local agencies in standing up their own programs and continues to evolve his program as the industry changes. Aaron is a two time Grand Master in USPSA (Production and Limited) and was the cofounder of the department's marksmanship team.
