TTPOA and the Lubbock Police Department SWAT team will be hosting a 60hr Basic SWAT Course February 24th – 28th 2020 in Lubbock.

 

The course begins at 07:00 Monday February 24th at the Lubbock Police Academy located at 508 Davis Drive Lubbock Texas. 

 

Course Details:

Students should show up for class in PT gear. Bring your BDU’s to change after your complete the PT assessment. You will be required to provide transportation for you and your gear to different training venues in and around the Lubbock area.

This course will focus on the basic understanding of SWAT operations, including: history of SWAT, team organization and structure, case study, liability, physical fitness, SWAT equipment, intel gathering, hostage rescue, barricaded gunman, vehicle assaults, noise-flash diversionary devices, command post operations, marksmanship responsibilities, entries, warrant and tactical planning, introduction to breaching, firearms, chemical agents, and less-lethal options.

This course will be hands on and will require physical exertion and many hours of practical exercises at various venues in and around the Lubbock area.

 

Prerequisites:

Students must be a certified peace officer or active duty military personnel in good standing with their agency. Students must be able to provide an agency ID on the first day of class.

There will be a pass/fail physical assessment the morning of the first day. The PT assessment will be based on the Cooper “Single Cut Point” standard 1.5 mile run (under 16:28) 300 meter run (under 1:11) 25 push ups within one minute, 29 sit ups within one minute.

Students who fail the PT assessment WILL NOT be allowed to remain in the course and WILL NOT be refunded their tuition.

 

Required Equipment:

All normal tactical equipment including, BDU or other similar tactical uniform, tactical boots, PT clothing and running shoes, long sleeve shirt, gloves, helmet, tactical vest/body armor, gas mask, eye and hearing protections, pistol with 3 magazines, rifle with 3 magazines, pen and paper for note taking.

Ammo:

Pistol 400 rounds / Rifle 400 rounds.

Please bring simunitions equipment that you may have access to including safety gear, pistols and or rifles and 50 rounds of simunition ammo.

Payment must be received by February 17, 2020 in order to hold your spot in the class. No refunds will be given after this date

The fee for this course is $400. Class size is limited and all registration must be completed online. We recommend all payments be completed online during the registration process.
