Officer Rescue and Evacuation – Tactical Paramedics from Lubbock SWAT will train the attendees in the most current and accepted basic medical techniques being utilized in non-conforming events.  Emergency Evacuation/Transportation considerations will be discussed and demonstrated during the class.  This 10 hour course will focus on the care and transport of an officer during a dynamic event in which an officer may be critically injured.  Having a medical care plan and a tactical evacuation plan can make the difference in surviving catastrophic injuries.

 

Course Description:

TTPOA in conjunction with the Lubbock Police Department and Lubbock Fire Rescue will conduct this 10 hour class on 08/14/2020 beginning at 0700 hours.  The class will be taught by the cadre of instructors from Lubbock Fire Rescue and Lubbock Police Department.  The class will be held at the Lubbock Police Shooting Range, located at 11062 19th St., Lubbock, TX 79407.  Attendees should prepare to be at this location throughout the day.

 

Course Topics:

First and foremost, stopping life threatening bleeding.  Multiple techniques and products will be discussed and demonstrated.  Attendees will perform these techniques throughout the class.  We will discuss basic airway problems and how to correct them. Tactical Evacuation techniques will be taught and practiced during the class.  These techniques can be utilized during dynamic events when time is not on your side. This class is a hands on class.  Some activities may be physically taxing to the attendees.

 

Prerequisites:

Attendees must be active law enforcement.

 

Required Equipment: 

Everyday uniform wear, tactical boots, gloves, tactical vest, body armor, eye protection, pistol, rifle, and pen & paper for note taking.

 

Plan on being at this location throughout the class.  Having snacks, water and bug spray, and sun screen is highly recommended.

 

Payment Information:

Registration must be completed on-line at http://www.ttopoa.org/ (training calendar).

Payment should be made to TTPOA. Credit card payment is strongly recommended.

All fees are due by 3 August 2020. There will be no refunds or course credit for cancellations after that date.

The fee for the course is $225.00.
