Joined the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) in April of 2000.  He spent the first 6½ years with SAPD on patrol and was a Patrol Rifleman, Field Training Officer (FTO), and a member of the Dignitary Protection Detail.  From 2006 to 2022, he was assigned to the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, where he had the responsibility of preparing raid plans for warrants and gas plans for critical incidents.  He was also a member of the SWAT training cadre, responsible for training the team on firearms, hostage rescue, less lethal, and chemical agents.  He is a 2021 graduate of the FBI Hazardous Devices School and has been assigned to the SAPD Bomb Squad since 2023.
